The ex-Wolves & Sheffield Wednesday full-back has been capped three times for Wales, and is indeed the youngest player to feature for the principality.
Meanwhile, the game finished this evening 1-0 to Birmingham.
This was despite the signing of Ryan Green, who joins Hereford on a two-year deal.
United had the best of the first half, as they played without Andy Tretton, Danny Bertram or David Brown, and Birmingham's on-trial goalkeeper Dragan Zilic was kept busy early on by a fierce Steve Guinan effort and another forceful strike by Paul Parry.
At the other end, Andy Barrowman's chance failed to hit the target as it sailed across the goal midway through the half.
Further chances came, mainly from Hereford, before Birmingham took the lead. Hereford didn't really deserve to go behind, but former Manchester United, Borussia Dortmund and Sporting Lisbon attacker Jovan Kirovski picked up a good ball, beat the United defence before striking a low shot wide of the outstretched Matt Baker and into the far corner.
After the restart, United had to cope with knocks to Jamie Pitman, Paul Parry and Richard Teesdale but all seemed to recover rapidly. Before Teesdale was taken off late in the match, he made a mistake which almost cost United a second goal. He allowed the lively Craig Fagan through but, with Baker beaten, the young Blue found the crossbar when he really should have scored.
Ferdinand Cody, Birmingham's on-loan defender from Lens, was taken off fourteen minutes from time when the referee asked for his removal after an incident. He reluctantly departed, but unfortunately for Hereford, his loss did not weaken the Premiership side enough to find an equaliser.
